KFC Fans Are Shocked To Learn All-You-Can-Eat Buffets Once Existed

Can we bring back KFC all-you-can-eat buffets, please?

Ever wondered how amazing a KFC all-you-can-eat buffet could be? Well, you’re not alone.

Believe it or not, there was a time when this dream was a reality.

KFC has always had a loyal fanbase, one that’s willing to go to great lengths for their fried chicken fix.

And for those who got to experience the buffet in the late 90s and early 2000s, it was nothing short of legendary.

But for those who missed out, discovering this piece of KFC history has left them in disbelief—and a little envious.

It seems like some Australians are particularly nostalgic for it, and honestly, who can blame them?

One Facebook user shared a throwback photo of an old KFC all-you-can-eat buffet in Western Australia, captioning it:

“KFC. Bring back the all-you-can-eat buffet. South Lake WA – closed the buffet in early 2000s.”

The post sparked a flurry of comments, with many people expressing their desire to see the buffet return.

One person eagerly wrote: “I want one now!” while another chimed in with: “Bring it back.”

For many others, however, learning that these buffets once existed was a revelation—and not a happy one.

One commenter summed up the sentiment with: “I feel ripped off.”

Interestingly, KFC buffets weren’t just an Australian phenomenon. Japan has also enjoyed the luxury of all-you-can-eat KFC.

In Tokyo, one KFC restaurant offered a buffet with a whopping 50 different items on the menu.

This included pasta, fries, curry, soup, salad, biscuits, dessert, and of course, their iconic original recipe fried chicken.

Diners could also try unique offerings like Special Fried Chicken Soup Curry and rotisserie-style KFC chicken.

To complement the feast, the restaurant offered all-you-can-drink packages, covering everything from soft drinks to alcoholic beverages, making the 80-minute dining experience even more indulgent.

In the United States, KFC buffets have made rare appearances. Insider reported spotting one in Southern California as recently as 2018, admitting they had no idea such buffets even existed.

At this location, diners could enjoy unlimited fried chicken goodness for just $8.99, a steal for such a feast.

For now, though, fans can only dream about the return of these buffets. Imagine piling your plate with fries, gravy, and as much original recipe chicken as you can handle. Sounds like heaven, doesn’t it?

Recalling the glory days, a Reddit user shared their fond memory: “They just kept bringing plate after plate of hot chicken out. Good times!”

Another chimed in with their experience: “Been to one of the buffets they have in Japan and it was glorious!”

And some couldn’t resist sharing their most outrageous buffet stories, like this one: “Ahhh KFC All-You-Can-Eat at Bondi Junction. $8.95 – where I chose to eat ONLY the skin off 6 pieces (because I could), downed it down with unlimited gravy and then proudly threw up! One of the most proudest moments of my 20s!”
