A recent event on a long-haul flight has stirred up a lot of discussion about what’s fair for passengers and how they should behave. The debate started when a plus-size woman chose not to give up her second seat, which she paid for, to a toddler.
The woman didn’t shy away from talking about her weight and shared details about the incident.
She pointed out that the toddler, only 18 months old, didn’t actually need his own seat and could have just sat on his mom’s lap.
Other people on the flight saw what was happening.
But many backed the woman’s choice to keep both seats. They argue that if you book and pay for an extra seat, you shouldn’t have to give it up. They believe that passengers shouldn’t be forced to let go of seats they’ve paid for.
